Karla's Strawberry PIZZA (torte)!

Karla passed on a recipe idea that at first sounded... well.. unpleasant.
However, not to be deterred , we tweaked it a bit and came up with
something much better! We made the strawberries more the style of
 "Strawberry Romanoff", added the right spices to the crust... and changed
the cheesecake filling... all -- I believe-- for the better. Oh yes, the glaze
called for in the original recipe was -- as my daughters would say -- 'hobo'...
 so we made our own with lovely Casis!

strawberry Marinade:
(soak in the refrigerator up to 1 week)

1 pint strawberries sliced in half
2 cups of equal parts of the following:
orange juice concentrate,
Armagnac and
triple sec  (
Grand Marnier or Contreau)
1 tsp Mace


1 cup bread flour
1 stick butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp mace
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cardamom

Casis Glaze

Preparing the Raspberry-Cassis Sauce

3 cups (one 12-ounce bag) frozen unsweetened raspberries
1 cup red currant jelly
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon arrowroot
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon or more Creme de Cassis

Cream Cheese Layer

8 oz of Cream Cheese - Softened

4oz. of white chocolate  - Softened

a splash of Amarula

1/4 cup of powdered sugar

whip it up!
