USC-UCLA Game!

  NOV 22, 2003

Okay.... this isn't Gator Stuff... but it is still fun! My folks had their first 'date' on November 22, 1969 at the USC-UCLA football game. So, when this year's game rolled around on the same date they packed off , drove 200 miles and went to see the game!

I guess when the game is sold out with over
93,000 , you really can't complain about the
seats you find yourself in!
The coliseum is quite a place! This was the site of the 1932 Olympics as well as the 1984 Olympic Games. The scoreboard is visible in this picture as well as the Olympic 'eternal flame'.

USC football fans
Mom and Dad with a snack before the game. I think they were over at the science center across the street from the coliseum! whew! I thought Gainesville got expensive!
They got hit for $50 in parking! They said this
made them feel as 'poor' as they really were
34 years ago!

Well before the game started, the USC Trojan Marching Band paraded into the Coliseum.
They are known for their pageantry!

Here's Mom being very good at my favorite
Mexican food restaurant FEDERICO'S !!
Is it alcoholic or is it not? Is Dad being good
or is he being bad? Hmmm

At Federico's Marketplace and Cantina
in Buellton, California the
center piece is a grand bronze statue of
galloping horses! It is very impressive!

Well.... Dad received two masters degrees in Business at USC and although he was a scholarship athlete at UCLA, his heart belongs to USC. Mom tells me that it is because they were so nice to him there!

In spite of this, I know they support me and are GATOR FANS as well! I have the proof! Here's Mom below with her homemade ZOOK glasses! GOoOoOoo Gators!
