Welcome to my first real K-Mail of my Senior Year. I'll be graduating after summer school!  In between all the midterms and presentations, I am very busy studying for the GRE and applying to Graduate Schools for next fall! As Matt Drudge says, "developing....."

I appreciate all of your emails and I hope that I can answer some of your questions in this K-Mail! Some of you asked what kind of workouts I REALLY have been doing at Florida --- and I will tell you! Some of you can't believe I have lost all this weight and gained strength!

Way too many of you have shared your own experiences with harassment, and I really feel for you. So, I decided to take some action and write a survey  to help us all see how much of this really goes on out there in T&F. Hey, what are all those classes in stats and research methods for if you can't use them to answer interesting questions?

Please take a few minutes to participate in my anonymous Sexual Harassment Survey. Sexual Harassment means many things, including providing a 'hostile' environment. This is one of the little talked about and much complained about side effects of 'Title 9' ---male coaches and their female athletes. You might be a guy who has witnessed something, so this survey is for you too!
UPDATE: SURVEY Completed!....

the last day for taking my survey was Friday, 12 November 2004.... when I have the completed and tabulated results, I will post a link on my site! I would like to thank everyone who participated ... it has been an interesting experience!

Please feel free to look over the survey --Karen:)

Everyone knows by now that I have a training program of my own. My program pushed me over 53 feet three times in high school , so I know it works.

We've all seen the so-called "greats"--yeah, you know, the ones who are freaking out about being drug-tested at big competitions and whose marks drop like rocks when they KNOW they're going to be tested for sure. We all know who they are. Well, this program isn't for them. This is the real deal for people who want to get strong and fit through just a lot of good old-fashioned hard work.

Check out my daily routine for strength, throwing and conditioning and see for yourself if it will work for you!

By the way, if you are a thrower and want to trim down... I have a special link to 'running' just for you on what I am doing! enjoy!

A lot has been going on in my Public Relations Classes and here are a few of the projects that I have been working on! I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did writing them! I wrote a story about my father's fight with diabetes that inspired me a lot! I also figured that if diabetics have to trim up and keep their weight down that this was something I should look at for my own needs!

School isn't all about hard work. I had the opportunity to volunteer for a couple of nights at Gainesville's "Ronald MacDonald House" and witness the good they do for our community. We cooked spaghetti and brought 120 cookies! Kristin took a break from her Army work (she's getting promoted to Captain tomorrow!) and stopped by to see the Grand Canyon. She captured a really nice shot! Karla made a nice family drawing for the K-Mail as well!

Most of you know that I have lost a lot of weight... and I am continuing to lose a ton! Let's just say that I passed up size 18 and 16 and ----? What's cool is that my strength levels are still great! There is a natural reason for this. When you lose fat you begin to produce less estrogens, which aids in slimming down and strength.

I was very sorry to see Coach Ron Zook fired at Florida. He always had a nice word for everyone. I liked him. We wish him the best of luck in his next job--maybe he'll get the appreciation he deserves. Now if anybody asked me for a list of those who really needed to go ---I would be happy to suggest some names! -- Karen :(

 Here's what others are saying:

"Sending our seniors out as winners will be one of the things we're going to be focusing on these next four games. We're going to send Coach Zook and his coaches out as winners too."-- Mike Degory  (Center)

"I've got a lot of respect for coach and how he handled it. He came out to practice yesterday and it was just another practice for us. He was just as intense as our first day of practice. I feel bad for coach because it's been a challenge ever since he got here."

"Since the very first day he accepted the job, he's received criticism. I have a lot of respect for him. He stepped up to the plate and he had enough courage to take the job and step up to the challenge. He didn't even flinch at all the stuff he's had to do. I have a lot of respect for Coach Zook."-- Jemalle Cornelius (Wide Receiver)

Have you voted Yet?      I sent my absentee ballot in a long time ago---oh those California Propositions! We voted on everything from banning genetically engineered crops to more Indian casinos to supporting stem cell research.

Thanks for taking the time to visit with me and I hope you get a chance to participate in our Sexual Harassment Survey! I will make the results available on the major track and field web sites as well as right here for all of my loyal K-Mail readers!

By the way, guys, I'll be watching all of you this indoor season from the sidelines! Let me know how you are doing!
