Don't look too closely or you'll see
a lot of hungry faces! They forgot
to bring something to eat for lunch!

The good news is that usually
only happens once!

I  have a USC roster page!

This was our first outdoor meet and it was very exciting to start it
off in such a nice and relaxed atmosphere!
Claremont can get very sunny and having a few tents around made it enjoyable!

I knew this was going to be a long day and I fixed up a cheese steak sandwich
to hold me over until dinner. Unfortunately, not everyone came as well
prepared and I had to guard my 'treasure' !

LUNCH! Yes, I want to talk to all of you younger K-Mail subscribers and remind each of you to bring something to eat when you travel to a meet!

As experienced as many of the throwers are in college, I am always surprised to find how few prepare themselves nutritionally for the long day. I can tell you that I was a bit nervous when I pulled out my Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich on a giant hoagie roll! YIKES!

Whether you are a woman or a man it is important to know how to cook! After all , you can better control the quality and quantity!

The hammer area was a rough and tumble wild west looking spot!

Here is one of the men throwing in the hammer!

A few of our hammer throwers getting prepared for the competition!

Warming up for the discus competition!

As I said, it was a great low key meet
to get the bugs out before the important competitions later in the season.

Here are a few of the participants and fans!

I would like to thank everyone at Claremont for hosting this fun day of competition!
I got a chance to see some folks I haven't seen and surprise a few officials who thought I had long since graduated!
