The trip to New Mexico felt like deja vu! Meeting the team at USC in the early hours, traveling to the airport and a quick flight to New Mexico seemed like I had done it a thousand times before. We also had a great dinner the night before the meet and I had my usual, steak! We stayed in a top flight hotel and my roommate is a very nice person. I did feel 'like the old kid on the block' and some people were teasing me that I was acting like their mom! It is always important to remember that the big meets are all ahead of us!

When I checked weather.com, I discovered that both My sister Kristin and I were experiencing the same briskly cool weather! The difference -- as she would no doubt tell me -- is that I was in a luxury hotel in New Mexico, while she was in a tent in the fields of Japan! She has learned enough Japanese to get by and informs me : "Fugu wa kuitashii, inochi wa oshishii."... is simply "I want to eat fugu, but I don't want to die!"... Fugu - as in Puffer Fish sushi produces a tingling sensation -- I believe you can also order a drink that has it's testes (which give it its zing) in it!

Sometimes , in track, we spend a lot of time on airport runways and since I was a little bored, I snapped a few pictures. However, this picture does give you a view of their mountains. It reminds me a lot of Southern California.	Another angle and another view!
