We had a great time at the University of South Florida....
We went down to Tampa Friday night to throw the hammer, then came back
on Saturday to throw the shot and discus. Kim broke my school record in
the shot...56'10.25"....but as our CA governor says, "I'll be back!"  :)

I am really looking forward to throwing in Arizona!!! The meet is a great one
and my Iraqi Vet sister will be there to cheer me on! Stay tuned! :)

I just wanted to show you this link to the article about
the throwers in the Alligator. Here is the link:

There are some good quotes !!...
and it has a picture of Akera throwing!

Here are LeeAnne Sears' articles for our meet in Tampa and the men's trip to Texas Relays!

  UPDATE

April 5th....

We are entering our last week of Spring practice. It has been a good Spring so far, but we have a lot to accomplish in our last four practices.

The team will practice on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday this week. In addition, Tuesday's practice will begin earlier at 2:45. You can continue to check my website for any changes in times and locations of all of the practices. I hope to see everyone at the Orange and Blue game this Saturday (April 10) at 1 p.m. in "The Swamp."

Last weekend we held our annual coaches clinic and again it was a success. We had a large number of high school coaches from around the area and country in Gainesville from Thursday to Saturday.

Please continue to check my website for the latest in Gator football news, including my post-practice comments. Thanks again for your continued support and Go Gators!

 April 1st

This week begins the second half of our spring practice. We've had a good first week, but our players need to continue to come out with the intensity and mindset of getting better every day.

We will start practice today (Thursday, April 1st) at the practice field but we will finish the second half of the practice at The Swamp. Hope to see you there.

Today is also the start of our annual coaches clinic. We will have a large number of high school coaches from around the country in Gainesville from Thursday to Saturday. There will be lectures, exhibits, drill demonstrations and seminars for all of the coaches and they will also be welcome to attend our scrimmage Saturday morning.

It has been a great event for us in the past and we look for another great weekend.
