a South African Delight!

Smoorvis Recipe


1 lb Smoked Salmon
1 lb shrimp

1  onions
cup garlic

Butter & olive oil

2 bell peppers

2 potatoes

1 tsp Ginger

1 can diced tomatoes

2 cups rice

cup Sultanas (White Raisins)

1 tablespoon Garam Masala

Salt, black pepper, Lemon juice to taste


1 cups Aborio Rice
plus cup  dry white wine
plus  2 cups chicken stock


Serve with hard boiled eggs


Chopping the onions, Garlic
and bell Peppers!
Dicing 2 Potatoes!

Precook before adding to main mixture
Preparing the hard boiled eggs
Saute the onions, garlic and bell peppers
until onions are clear
Saute the salmon in white wine!
Adding the Smoked Salmon
to the Shrimp!
Add a little white wine
Saute the vegetables and shrimp separately!
Saute the shrimp in Curry, butter, salt and garlic
Just before being covered, here is
 the Smoorvis in all it's glory!
Smoorvis served with eggs and tomatoes!
Grandma loves being entertained!
