Karen's Diet Diary Entry 5

I know you are wondering what we are doing when we aren't throwing or running stairs... well, here we are lifting weights again!

We have music, food, shade and good company to put more FUN into working out!

Hi Again! I won't tell you... YET... how much I have lost because I am a long way away from my goals...
but "I am working on it!"
Let's just say that
I haven't been this light since 7th grade!

Scott is smiling on the outside...
but he's feeling the
'pain' of 'burn outs'!
If you don't know what burn outs are... well...
imagine lifting a weight until you can't do one more repetition and then getting some "help" from
"Dad" to let you do one more set!!!
Isn't that nice of him! NOT!!!

Here I am getting a 'lift off' on 245 lbs for my first...
or was it my fifth set of burn outs? It's really
hard to remember after a while!

Here's Scott!
You really really don't want to know how much
he is burning out with! He's made great progress!
I know that Dad would like to skip his workout!
However, as he says
"I feel your pain"...
and I know he means it! :)

Here's Scott 'coming down the ladder' as we say.
He is doing one of his last burn out sets!

Scott is going to UCSB next year and really looks
forward to the new coach and new experiences!

Well, I hope you like a peak into my day... but I forgot to tell you one important thing!

I do cheat on my diet. I stay to my diet all week and I allow myself one modest break for an evening meal! This week we had barbecued ribs, sweet local corn, Caesar Salad (with anchovies!).... and GARLIC bread (Yes, it had butter... real butter in it!). Looking forward to this break has helped to keep me focused on what I am trying to do!

Stay Tuned! -- Karen!
